It is so easy to get stuck in patterns of thinking and behaving that when things get stressful it is hard to get unstuck. Have you ever felt like there were no more options or that all options will lead to failure? Have you lost sleep due to thoughts going over and over in your head and all that happens is you feel more stressed and now sleep deprived? Would you like to feel and function like you used to when you could breathe easy, sleep well and turn off the electricity running through your body? I can help.
I help people become more self aware, expand their worldview, and live happier lives. I can help you to pull away from the patterns that are not working. I have expertise in helping people, however; you're the expert in your life. I will join with you in achieving results.
I have extensive training working with transgender clients, the LGB community, and recovery from addictions. I enjoy working with a variety of issues and can help manage anxiety, depression, relationships, and general life stressors. I have over 6 years of experience in Employee Assistance Programs work using brief therapy interventions.

I am aware that the stress of dealing with difficult life situations can manifest itself in maladaptive coping behaviors, depression, and anxiety. This can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, others, and the world around us. I believe that through awareness, self-compassion, and getting in touch with our true selves, we can discover that we already possess all the resources to finding peace. Whether a person is struggling with a certain disorder, a specific challenge in life, making changes, or personal insight and self growth, I can help them find the serenity to live life to its fullest.
My experience includes, but is not limited to, working with those suffering from self harmful behaviors, personality disorders, panic, anxiety, depression, negative body image, and eating disorders. I have a passion for helping young adults and teens transition into adulthood.
I have an extensive background in providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy and mindfulness therapies. I strive to provide holistic therapy in a safe environment while honoring the individualized treatment needs of each client. I provide individual and group psychotherapy to people 13 and over.

I entered this field because I truly believe that all individuals have the capacity to live whole lives and reach their goals, with the proper support. The amount of trauma and other emotional obstacles that individuals are able to overcome, with counseling, is remarkable. My goal is to facilitate individuals' understanding and exploration of emotions and experiences, so that a whole and healthy life is achieved.
I have experience with all ages and a specific focus on providing play therapy, activity therapy and talk therapy, as well as providing consultation for caregivers. The majority of my counseling experience has been in educational settings, allowing me to gain an understanding of the intersection of mental health, academic achievement and work performance.
This understanding is important in my work, as many school-aged children's emotional concerns are sometimes being misidentified as academic or behavioral deficiencies. I am passionate about providing training and education to parents, educators and employers in an effort to help them better understand mental health, behavior and child/adult development.
